- Scream Town
7410 Highway 212, ChaskaThe name says it all. One of Minnesota’s most popular Halloween destinations, Scream Town features eight attractions including a zombie apocalypse zone, an eerie rabbit hole, a nightmarish maze, a circus asylum, and more. Scream Town has received numerous accolades from haunted house and Halloween attraction aficionados who have called it one of the scariest experiences they’ve had. - Zombie Pub Crawl
Meets at the Warehouse District of Minneapolis
October 14, 2017Be a zombie for a day! Named by the Guinness Book of World Records as the “World’s Largest Gathering of Zombies,” Minneapolis’s Zombie Pub Crawl is a fun event that will have you sampling the fare of participating bars, dancing to live music, and enjoying gourmet food trucks in your best zombie get-up.
For added excitement, you can join the World Brain-Eating Championships, or just cheer for your favorites on the sidelines.
- Afton Apple Orchard
14421 South 90th Street, HastingsWhat is Halloween without pumpkin? Or apples? You can get some of the best ones at Afton Apple Orchard during apple-picking and pumpkin seasons in the fall. Encompassing more than 200 acres, the orchard produces pumpkins, strawberries, raspberries, and 13 varieties of apples. In addition to picking fruits, you and the family can also enjoy hayrides, a large playground, a petting farm, a 15-acre corn maze, and more. You can also buy frozen and unbaked apple pies, jams, fruit butters, fresh honey, and other homemade goodies made from the freshest ingredients.
- Fright Farm
2020 White Bear Avenue North, MaplewoodVoted one of Minnesota’s best haunted houses, Fright Farm will have you and the family screaming in fear as you encounter ghosts and other ghoulish creatures in this old farm with a 100-year-old barn. Featuring theatrical quality effects and professional actors, Fright Farm is a nonprofit that aims to raise funds for the DARE program and the Ramsey County Sheriff’s Foundation. - Shafer Corn Maze
South of Highway 8 in ShaferThis confounding activity is a must-do in Minnesota during Halloween – or any other day of the year. Built in a 12-acre cornfield, the professionally designed puzzle includes two mazes to cater to all ages. Within the large maze, you can play The Farm Treasure Hunt, which features clues that lead you to hidden treasures. Within the small maze, you can play Farm Scene Investigation, in which you’ll be tasked to collect hidden evidence to solve a crime. A simpler puzzle for kids has also been created.
- Twin Cities Horror Festival
The Southern Theater, 1420 South Washington Avenue,
Minneapolis October 26 to November 5, 2017This unique 11-day event features 11 live performances showcasing the horror genre. Incorporating dance, drama, comedy, film, and others, the festival is run by a group of artists known as the United Festival Group, LLC, and is staged at the historic Southern Theater. Reportedly haunted, the theater is a fitting venue and adds more Halloween flavor to this anticipated event.
