Your Essential Guide to Minneapolis Nightlife

The fun doesn’t stop when the sun goes down. Not in Minneapolis. A dizzying selection of bars, breweries, clubs, and lounges will keep you up until the wee hours of the morning.

Join the party at any of these places:

  1. The Local
    931 Nicollet Mall

This pub serves Irish favorites like fish and chips, shepherd’s pie, and Guinness. Fantastic food and a great ambiance will keep you coming back. Live telecasts of international sports matches will have you rooting for your favorite team along with fellow sports enthusiasts who congregate at the pub on matchday.

Walk-in groups are welcome, but The Local also accepts reservations for gatherings and private events. Hold your next birthday bash here, or throw a bachelor’s party for a friend.

  2. Psycho Suzi’s Motor Lounge
    1900 Marshall St.

Kitsch, tattoo culture, and excellent drinks make this tiki bar a popular hangout for Minneapolitans looking for a great time. Have some wine, beer, or an expertly mixed cocktail while you sample Psycho Suzi’s tasty burgers and pizzas.

Its superb location by the river offers stunning views of the water, while a large patio shaded by trees lets you enjoy the weather as you catch up with friends at the end of a long work week. The upstairs bars may be rented for private parties and other events.

  3. First Avenue &7th St Entry
    701 1st Ave N

This music venue is comprised of two performance spaces. The Mainroom can accommodate up to 1,550 guests and hosts over 200 live performances each year, while 7th St. Entry has a capacity of 250 and hosts about 350 concerts annually. Widely regarded as the center of live music in the Mini Apple, it attracts droves of music fans from all over the country.

Catch musical acts like Savoy, Electric Guest, and Mykki Blanco. Music legend and Minneapolis native Prince famously played at First Avenue, and tribute concerts have been held at the club.

  4. Shout House Dueling Pianos
    110 N 5th St

Listen to your favorite classic rock & roll songs from the 1950s to the present time while you dine on jambalaya or carbonara. Sing along to the greatest hits of all time and admire the musical skill of the resident pianists who perform on face-to-face pianos.

Enjoy VIP seating in a special area that overlooks the whole bar. Order a bottle and call for a toast. Celebrate your birthday or anniversary with great company and first-rate entertainment.

  5. Sisyphus Brewing
    712 Ontario Ave W

Weekly comedy events and a great selection of craft beers will have you grinning from ear-to-ear by the time you leave Sisyphus Brewing. Cozy booths and long tables make up the snug interior. The brewery doesn’t have a kitchen, but food can be ordered from nearby eateries like Urban Sub and Pizza Luce.

It’s the place to catch a local or national comedian doing stand-up. Or you can simply drop in to enjoy the beer. The bar can accommodate up to 85 people and may be reserved for private events.
